Our History

Food Lover’s Market started in 1993 when brothers Brian and Mike Coppin opened the first Fruit & Veg City store in Cape Town. The business began as a small fresh produce store focused on sourcing directly from farmers and offering customers great value.

Over time, the company expanded its offering to include butcheries, bakeries, seafood, deli products, and groceries, evolving into the Food Lover’s Market brand known today. The group has since grown into one of Southern Africa’s largest privately owned food retailers.
